- The Government intends to solicit a Sole Source requirement for J7 Digital Electronic Control Unit (DECU), National Stock Number (NSN): 5998-01-564-2378, Part Number: 12488555 to support the Abrams Family of Vehicles (FOV) production and spare parts requirements. The Government intends to award a five year Firm Fixed-Priced (FFP) requirements contract. The estimated 5 year quantity for production is a total of 2,446 EA. Production Ordering Year 1: 478 EA, Ordering Year 2: 539 EA, Ordering Year 3: 493 EA, Ordering Year 4: 452 EA, Ordering Year 5: 484 EA. The estimated 5 year quantity for spares is a total of 2,002 EA. Spares Ordering Years 1-2: 400 EA/YR, Ordering Year 3: 401 EA, Ordering Year 4: 400 EA, Ordering Year 5: 401 EA. This offer is being restricted to the approved source, Honeywell International, Inc. CAGE: 99193. The authority permitting other than full and open competition is FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements." Contractors who are interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact the prime contractor. Description: The J7 DECU controls the Automotive Gas Turbine (AGT) 1500 engine in the M1 Abrams tank. Taking inputs from the driver and outputs from sensors and other units to operate the tank engine using hardware and software ensuring the engine functions in a proper and safe manner.
