Description

PROJECT: Upgrade an open storage facility with compliant facility. REQUIREMENT: There is a need to upgrade an open storage area and comply with current State of Florida stormwater management requirements and DoD standard design criteria to allow for environmentally compliant and safe operations. Site regrading and a stormwater retention area are needed to provide suitable work areas and compliant groundwater discharge to the adjacent waterways. This location is a Southeast United States area hub for the reutilization and disposal of excess DoD property and material. CURRENT SITUATION: The existing open storage area is mostly unpaved and in need of improvements. The lot has no drainage provisions. In addition, the current storage area is regularly underwater. Standing water can be up to two feet deep. Material handling equipment is difficult to safely operate in these conditions. The facility is in violation of the provision of 29 CFR 1910. The State of Florida has issued an Environmental Resource Permit to construct a stormwater management system. The approximate Cost Range for the project is estimated to be between $1,000,000.00 - $5,000,000.00
