- SRS Technical Workshop Agenda The Savannah River Site Management and Operating Contract Technical Challenges This Special Notice is to advise interested parties that the Department of Energy (DOE), Savannah River Site (SRS) will be hosting an all-day Technical Workshop on July 12, 2018 in Augusta, GA. This Special Notice is to advise interested parties that DOE-SRS will be presenting information on technical challenges associated with Management and Operation of the Savannah River Site, to include, but not limited to the following: • Operation of the three production nuclear facilities: - H-Canyon for the dissolution and recovery of nuclear materials from spent nuclear fuel - K-Area for the storage and dilution of special nuclear materials - L-Basin for the storage of spent nuclear fuel • Maintenance and essential upgrades of the three production nuclear facilities, such as ventilation systems and process equipment • Sustainment of a nuclear qualified workforce • Pursue continual improvement on reliability and efficiency of site infrastructure systems This event will provide an opportunity to hear from subject matter experts on the current technical issues, needs, and challenges facing DOE-SRS. Attendance at this event is voluntary. The government will not reimburse any contractor for expenses related to attendance at this activity. This Technical Workshop will be held at the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center, 2 Tenth Street, Augusta, GA 30901. Registration for this Technical Workshop will close on July 10, 2018. Registration is by email only. Pre‐registration is required and walk‐ins will not be permitted. Registration is limited to three (3) representatives from each company or group. All registration requests pertaining to this announcement should be sent to: SRSTechExch2018@srs.gov. Registration requests for each individual shall include: name, company/organization represented, telephone number, and email address. In addition, please identify a single point of contact for future correspondence.
