Description
The purpose of this amendment is to answer posed questions and to extend the solicitation closing date. The current date of 07/03/18 is here by extended to 07/06/18, 4:00pm EST. VA Solicitation Questions #36C25918Q9626 Set #2 Question #1 Line Item for Height Adjustable Tables per office (HAW1) are noted as having a programmable switch. However, 2.3.6 states Tables to come with standard switch for simple up/down control. Which is desired for the purpose of this bid (simple up down is the lower cost option) Answer: Standard switch is acceptable. Question #2 2.3.4 states Tables must contribute to LEED Credits Are any specific LEED points being sought after in relation to this requirement? Indoor Air Quality, Recycled Content, etc? Additionally, is the requirement to contribute to LEED credits so important that the end user wishes to pay more to achieve this goal? Is this requirement simply satisfied by submitting the manufacturer s environmental documentation sheet for the specified product highlighting recycled content, recyclable content, use of low VOC adhesives, and the like? Answer: Interior Design must track how much Green products they purchase including recycle and recyclable content. By submitting the manufacturer s environmental documentation sheet for recycle content, recyclable content, low VOC adhesives, etc, will suffice and would contribute to LEED credits therefore meeting that requirement. Question #3 2.3.8 states that the worksurface shall be 29 D x 70 W is this more like the nominal dimension on a 72 wide or is the table desired to be a special width of 70 wide which is non standard and could extend lead times from many, if not most manufacturers? 2.3.11 then states that they are to be 30 x 72 which is standard. Answer: Plus or minus 2 is acceptable when dealing with metric versus imperial system. 2.3.11 talks about the legs having to support a 30 x 72 table. Question #4 1.3.4 Statement of Work Performance Requirements state Warranty shall include parts, shipping, travel, and service. Later sections state that individual products shall have a Lifetime Warranty which often does not include the travel and service component. Which is required/preferred? Answer: All warranties must include service and travel at no additional cost to the owner. Question #5 2.15.1 Please advise on the current temporary product installed in this location since scope of services includes removing it to store in Building 2 Basement. Answer: Temporary furniture is similar to the new proposed layout. Same amount or quantity of pieces. Question #6 2.15.3 Please advise on interior cab size of elevators available for use if passenger elevators. Please identify if they are freight elevators instead. Answer: Freight elevators are available. Question #7 Please confirm what floor of Building 3 the project is located on. Answer: Project is located on the first floor. Question #8 We note that the bid does ask for HM (Herman Miller) keys from the Great Openings product. We can understand why this is important. Is this a firm requirement in that the mixing of keys from another manufacturer will not be accepted? (we can provide the Great Openings, as an alternate) Answer: Yes, all keys have to be HM (Herman Miller) since we are mixing existing with new and every office needs to be Key alike.   Each office to be Keyed alike is the preferred result.
