Description
Justification for other than full and open competition This is a notice of intent to sole source to Florida International University (FIU) a large business for specialized training. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) intends to have FIU provide specialized training services in support of the NDMS Patient Movement and Patient Care programs. They will develop two courses under this contract to meet this requirement - a Basic Medical Evacuation Training Course (BMET-C) and an Advanced Medical Evacuation Course (AMET-C). Upon development of the two courses, they will conduct the specialized AE training services on a semi-regular basis, for BMET-C students and AMET-C students. Government students may be physicians, nurses, Respiratory Therapists (RTs), Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), or Physician Assistants (PAs). The university has earned the United States Air Force Transportability Testing (ATTLA) certification to load equipment and supplies and evacuate critical care patients in military aircraft which is needed for this requirement.
