- The VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with TECHNICAL COMMUNITIES, an authorized distributor of LUMENIS. The proposed contract action is for the purchase of Lumenis AcuPulse 40 ST DUO C02 Laser bundle to be used in conjunction with the existing Lumenis Smart CO2 technology and Digital Acublade, and existing ENT laryngoscopes and microscopes currently in use at the VA Fresno. This sole source action is in accordance with FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(B). Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no competitive solicitation will be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements or provide an equal product may give written notification to the contract specialist for consideration. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed above for the requested products. Responses are due by July 12th at 3:00 PM PDT. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
