- Description
- Notice of Intent to Award - 140P8618Q0040 The National Park Service, GOGA MABO Contracting Office in San Francisco, CA intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price purchase order to Motorola Solutions, Inc., 809 Pinnacle Dr., Suite G, Linthicum Heights, MD 21090 for a system upgrade, infrastructure repair with advanced replacement, and technical support of the Bay Area Wide Trunked Radio System for Golden Gate National Recreation Area located in San Francisco County, CA. This services procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) soliciting from a single source authorized by FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1). The anticipated award date is July 27, 2018. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811213, Communication Equipment Repair and Maintenance. Motorola Solutions, Inc. is the manufacturer of the currently installed system and the sole provider of upgrades and services for the system, which have proprietary designs and software. It would be far too expensive to completely replace the radio system to accomplish these needed upgrades. Furthermore, this radio system functions as a component of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) radio system. In order for the entire radio system to function properly, all participants on the radio system must be running an up-to-date version of the Astro 25 operating system and have the most current software patches. If any participant on LLNS ¿ radio system fails to maintain current software updates, it prevents any other user from making updates (all users must upgrade in unison). As a result, LLNS requires all participants on its radio system to purchase SUA and support coverage to keep its software and hardware updated. In accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(15)(i), all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. Responses, or any comments and questions regarding this notice may be directed to Kyle P. Daniska, Contracting Officer, at kyle_daniska@nps.gov. All responses, and comments and questions received by July 26, 2018 will be considered.
