- Description
- The USDA Forest Service, National Forests in North Carolina, Appalachian Ranger District, has a requirement for upgrades to the Black Mountain Trailhead parking lot. The parking lot is located in Yancy County, approximately 20 miles east of Burnsville, NC off State Highway 129. Exact coordinates will be in the solicitation package. Work shall consist of the complete construction of a bituminous surfaced parking lot and related facilities. Work will include the following: minor clearing and grubbing, selective demolition, site grading, construction of a minor concrete retaining wall, asphalt pavement surfacing, drainage culvert, and erosion control. This is a 100% Small Business Set Aside, no preferences. There are no incumbents. The magnitude is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. Payment Bonds will be required from the awardee. If the awardee's proposal exceeds $150,000.00, Performance Bonds will also be required. If your proposals exceeds $150.000.00, a Bid Guarantee is required with your proposal. Proposals received that exceed $150,000.00 without a Bid Guarantee will be considered non-responsive. Bid Guarantees cannot be received electronically; it must be received via the mail or dropped off at 4931 Broad River Road, Columbia, SC 29212, ATTN: Kelly Updegraff. You may send in a Bid Guarantee and email your proposal, they do not need to be sent together, however both must be received no later than the proposal due date and time. The solicitation will be posted on this site, www.fbo.gov, on or about 26 July 2018. A pre-bid site visit will be held at 1000 AM EST on 7 August 2018 at the Black Mountain Trailhead parking lot. All questions must be submitted via email to Kelly Updegraff, kbupdegraff@fs.fed.us. To allow adequate responses, questions received after 1200 PM EST on 20 August 2018 may not be answered.
