- Description
- The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will hold an industry day for the Electronic Baggage Screening Program (EBSP) Competitive Procurement 2 (CP2). TSA seeks to engage industry and conduct market research by engaging interested and capable vendors to deliver innovative solutions and mission driven capabilities that address TSA's requirements for screening checked baggage, specifically Explosive Detection Systems (EDS). TSA leverages technology advancements where possible to meet aviation security challenges. In support of advancing security screening capabilities, TSA seeks to counter threats to civil transportation systems with technologies and procedures that prevent, deter or render ineffective attempts to sabotage. The industry day seeks varied representation from academia, private sector organizations, small businesses, non-profit organizations, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs), National Laboratories, or other federally funded entity who have proven experience in the checked baggage screening domain and/or can provide innovative solutions to augment the performance of OEM with candidate screening systems. Only vendors registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) should register. During the industry day TSA will communicate our roadmap and capabilities expectations, new EDS classification system with the refined requirements and milestones for the EBSP Qualified Products List (QPL). CP2 will identify qualified screening equipment for future EDS contracts that will allow EBSP to purchase capabilities and technologies aligned to updated AD-102 documentation. EBSP will consider all applications that demonstrate design compliance to EBSP requirements under the new QPL window; anticipated to open no later than the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2019. The industry day will be held at a TSA Headquarters Facility in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area on Monday, August 13, 2018. Each vendor is limited to three (3) attendees, all attendees must undergo the below visitor vetting process to attend the industry day. Each vendor must provide the required information to EBSPIndustryDay@tsa.dhs.gov by 4pm on Monday, July 30, 2018. TSA will provide a confirmation of vetted attendees along with industry day details. This notice is not considered to be a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited or vendor participation, i.e., travel. Requests for the solicitation will not be accepted as a solicitation does not exist at this time. DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION. NON-FEDERAL ACCESS TO TSA NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION FACILITIES 1. Non-Federal Visitors. Non-Federal visitors to TSA facilities will need to provide Date of Birth and Social Security Number information. The required information shall be provided in a password protected Microsoft Excel spreadsheet emailed to the email address above only. In order to ensure protection of this information, the password for the password protected spreadsheet shall be sent in a separate email, at the same time. If multiple non-federal visitors from one company require access to TSA Headquarters facilities, that company should submit a single complete spreadsheet. A DHS/TSA employee shall be responsible for both inputting the information into the Visitor Request Form and actual escorting the visitor(s) at all times. The submitted emails shall then be deleted by TSA. 2. Foreign National Visitors. Foreign Nationals visiting TSA facilities in the U.S. and its territories will need to submit additional information to screening purposes, specifically: • Date of Birth • Gender • Country of Citizenship • Country of Birth • Passport Number and Expiration Date • Position/Title The required information shall be provided in a password protected Microsoft Excel spreadsheet emailed to the email address above only. If multiple Foreign National visitors from one company require access to TSA Headquarters facilities, that company should submit a single complete spreadsheet.
