- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Environmental Health, Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS) intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price purchase order to the TECAN US Inc. The address is 9401 Globe Center Drive, Suite 140, Morrisville, NC 27560-6211. The purpose of this acquisition is to purchase the a Tecan 96-Channel Pipetting arm. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1). The NAICS Code for this procurement is 811219 (Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance). The size standard is $20.5 Million dollars. The Government intends to purchase the TECAN 96-Channel Pipetting arm needed by the Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS). The TECAN 96-Channel Pipetting arm is unique among robotic arms that can be incorporated on the Tecan robotic workstation. It provides the laboratorian the abiilty to program the robot to pipette up to 96 samples at once, increasing the speed of the DLS's automated methods during method development and emergency response. Additionally, DLS must obtain the disposable tip transfer rack for the 96-channel pipetting arm designed specifically for the pipette tips that attach to this arm as well as the carrier and waste chute for this arm to be functional. DLS has already begun automating ELISA and immunocapture LD-MS/MS methods on the Tecan Freedom Evo 200 platform. In order to maintain continuity of our work and CLIA requirements, DLS needs to maintain this arm. Tecan is the only company that can procure and integrate this 96-channel pipetting arm on the Tecan Freedom Evo 200 platform. Only TECAN US Incorporated makes the TECAN 96-Channel Pipetting arm. TECAN US Incorporated specially makes the TECAN 96-Channel Pipetting arm upon demand to the CDC's exact specifications. The TECAN 96-Channel Pipetting arm makes CDC's automation process faster and more efficient. It is the only 96-channel pipetting arm on the market that is compatible with the other equipment currently utilized in the Division of Laboratory Sciences. No solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps. We will only issue a solicitation to the TECAN US Incorporated. TECAN US Incorporated is the only source available to provide this service that meets mission critical requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for proposal. A determination to compete this procurement based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to meet this requirement.
