Description
Sources Sought Notice The intent of this Sources Sought Notice is to identify potential Small Businesses especially any SDVOSB offerors capable of providing a Hyperion Imaging System as listed in the Statement of Need (See Below). These are for the VA Healthcare Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19104. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice should demonstrate the firm's ability, capability, and responsibility to provide the principal components of supplies listed in the Statement of Need (See Below). Responses should include the following information: Business name Address Business point of Contact Current Duns Number All information is to be submitted via e-mail at Amanda.saunders@va.gov Information provided will not be returned. All responses shall be in the English Language. Responses are due by 12:00 pm NOON (EST) on 7/25/18. Statement of Work (SOW) 642-18-3-153-0108 1. Contracting Officer s Representative (COR). will be provided at award 2. Contract Title. Hyperion Image Mass Cytometry (IMC) 3. Background. Currently available methods to examine tissue for research are limited in allowing simultaneous visualization of only 1-4 parameters. This hampers research progress. The Hyperion Imaging platform enables the semi-quantitative analysis of over 40 parameters in tissue sections and cell smears without the need for spectral compensation or subtraction of autofluorescent background. This unique spatial and parametric definition of the cells in situ enables understanding of protein behavior and interactions. Funding was specifically provided by the VA Office of R&D to procure this instrument for research use. Note: The C&A requirements do not apply, and a Security Accreditation Package is not required. 4. Scope. The Hyperion Imaging platform will enable the semi-quantitative analysis of >40 parameters in tissue sections and cell smears without the need for spectral compensation or subtraction of autofluorescent background. The Hyperion Imaging platform is composed of two modules: a Hyperion Tissue Imager and a Hyperion CyTOF ® system. The Hyperion Tissue Imager liberates antibodies bound to specific proteins of interest in select regions of fixed tissue sections or cell smears and transports them to the Hyperion CyTOF system for analysis. The Hyperion CyTOF system (formerly branded as Helios ®), is a mass cytometer that employs state-of-the-art Time-of-Flight Inductively Coupled Plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) technology in combination with elemental tags that have higher molecular weights than those elements that are naturally abundant in biological systems. In this way, the Hyperion CyTOF has the exquisite ability to simultaneously resolve >40 elemental probes at high acquisition rates without the need for compensation associated with fluorometric techniques, thereby maximizing the data obtained from a single sample in a single experiment. Additional unique attributes: <1 mm ablation spot size of solid tissue, or cells on slides Up to 52 elemental tags for analysis without re-staining (135 channels available) Rastering speed of 200 pixels/second 0.3% sensitivity for Tb Detection limit of 400 antibody copies per mm Dynamic range of 4 orders of magnitude Automated calibration 7.2TB RAID mirrored data storage Product Description: Comprises Hyperion Tissue Imager, Helios Mass Cytometer, Computer and Software. The Hyperion Tissue imager includes Nd:YAG deep UV solid state laser for ablation at 20Hz (tuning only), and 100/200Hz (ablation); Optical system with UV focusing components of laser source to < 1um2 ablation spot size; Ablation chamber with sample slide positioning stages for sub-micron positioning accuracy and Coupling system with tubing connection between the Hyperion Tissue Imager and the Helios for transferring ablated sample streams to the ICP for analysis. The Helios mass cytometer includes an Inductively coupled plasma ion source with free running RF generator and a balanced load coil interface; 5-stage vacuum system with 2-stage plasma-vacuum interface and TOF turbo-pump; ion-neutral decoupling ion deflector, high-pass ion optic and point-to- parallel focusing lens system; Orthogonal TOF analyzer operated at >75000 spectra/ second TOF cycle frequency; Discrete dynode ion detector; Detection system based on 1 GS/s 8-bit signal dual digitizing boards; Direct sampling spray chamber for individual cell assays; Microconcentric nebulizer; Automatic single sample pneumatic sample loader Auto optimization feature Instrument control and data handling CyTOF MS software. This high tech instrument will be housed within the Research Building at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VAMC. Start date: As soon as possible Length of Service: N/A Work Tasks and Deliverables Deliver and install all items listed above in the A405, Research Building, at 3900 Woodland Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19104. On-site instrument installation to include training that consists of an overview, operation and maintenance of equipment. 12 month warranty to include a 24 month extended warranty that will include parts, labor, on-site service responses, software upgrades.
