- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 5 has a requirement to perform pine thinning operations located on Assateague Island at the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge in Accomack County, Virginia. There are approximately 70 acres in two (2) work locations; approx. 4 miles apart on Assateague Island. Contractor shall provide all management, supervision, labor, tools, transportation, equipment, and materials including herbicide, and any miscellaneous supplies necessary to perform the work IAW work statement. This contract opportunity is a total set aside for small business concerns only. The NAICS code corresponding to this work is 561730, with a small business size standard of $7.5 million annually. Prevailing wages under the SCA will apply to this project. The estimated magnitude of work is between $25,000 and $100,000. This will be a firm-fixed price contract. Interested contractors must be registered and active in SAM (System for Award Management, www.sam.gov) in order to be considered for award. All invoicing will be through IPP (Invoice Processing System). Solicitation number 140F0518R0045 will be posted and available through www.fbo.gov and www.fedconnect.net on or about July 31, 2018. The scope of work and specifications to include technical capabilities will be posted with the solicitation. A pre-proposal site visit will be scheduled for early August and all interested contractors are strongly encouraged to attend. No hard copies will be sent out by this office.
