Description
Sources Sought The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division (AMD) Sources Sought for Commercial Item / Services Purchase(s) The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) seeks information on vendors that can provide one (1) lock-in Amplifier, meeting the following requirements. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Lock-in Amplifier, 2 input channels, 2 signal generators, 50MHz range, 3 dual-phase demodulators per channel, 120 dB dynamic range, corresponding software, Option Multi-frequency with 4 additional oscillators, arbitrary frequencies for all 6 demodulators, Option AM/FM Modulation with multiple linear combinations of oscillator frequencies, phase coherent analysis of AM and FM signals (carrier, sidebands), Option Dual Phase-locking with dual channel, full 50 MHz range 50 kHz loop bandwidth, programable PID controller, PLL advisor, Option Quad-PID with quadrupole PID controller with better than 5 kHz bandwidth for each for use of z-contol, laser control, sideband arithmetic operations. All the options are critical for the required performance. The option 2 is for side-band modulation and without it proposed work can't be done. Option 3 relates to option 2 that must be available, and options 4 and 5 are critical for running the feedback loop for control of the atomic force microscope. This announcement is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ) and does not commit the Government to award a contract now or in the future. No solicitation is available now. The purpose of this sources-sought is to identify organizations with the requisite qualifications to meet the requirements as stated herein. After results of this market research are obtained, analyzed and compared with NIST's minimum requirement(s). NIST may conduct a competitive procurement and subsequently award a contract. If at least two qualified small businesses are identified during this market research stage, then this acquisition may be solicited as a small business set aside. NIST is seeking responses from all responsible sources, including large and small businesses. This requirement is assigned a NAICS code of 335999, with a small business size standard of 500. The specific purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is to determine if there are small businesses, within the parameters identified above, that can provide the product(s) identified.
