This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY.    It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the  Government to award a contract.  Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response.  Responses to this Sources Sought must be in writing.  The purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential qualified businesses interested and capable of providing the requested commodities. The NAICS Code is 339112; size standard is 1000 Employees. 100% VOSB set-aside. Responses to this notice shall include the following: (a) company name  b) address (c) socio-economic status, (d) point of contact (e) phone, fax, and email (f) DUNS number (g) Cage Code (h) Tax ID Number (i) and must  provide a capability statement that addresses the organizations qualifications and ability  to perform as a contractor and provide the commodities described below.       ZIMMER Explant Instrument Sets See Statement of Work below. The Government is not obligated to nor will it pay for or reimburse any costs associated with responding to this sources sought synopsis request. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued.   Notice to Potential Offerors: All Offerors who provide goods or services to the United States Federal Government must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM located on the web at www.sam.gov). It is desirable that any Offeror to have completed their business Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). Equipment Statement of Work (SOW) ZIMMER OSTEOTOME/EXPLANT Instrument Trays 1. Background The Department of Veterans Affairs, NY Harbor Healthcare System, Manhattan campus Surgical service is requesting the Procurement of ZIMMER OSTEOTOME/EXPLANT INSTRUMENT SETS. These devices will be used during intraoperative Orthopedic procedures. Zimmer Explant is needed for hip revisions. Zimmer Explant Osteotomes help to remove acetabular components and preserve acetabular bone for the subsequent reconstruction. The Explant osteotomes are a critical tool needed for hip revisions, as the tool makes acetabular component removal faster, easier and safer for preservation of bone stock. EXPLANT is a trademark and brand of ZIMMER, INC.. The EXPLANT covers surgical instruments for use in hip surgeries which are frequently referred to the Manhattan VA.   NYHHS intends to meet the need for higher level patient care by purchasing these trays to assure that the operating room is fully stocked. A wide variety of instrument sizes facilitates multiple options to deal with most anatomical variations. The purchase of this system consisting of 3 trays will also allow NYH to save EXPLANT OSTEOTOME USAGE FEES for revision cases. The instruments are needed to support the facilities surgical case load. All surgeons using the equipment at NYHHS are satisfied with performance and surgeons who use the same and other systems at our affiliate attest that the requested system is superior. This equipment does not store patient information. Stanley Read will be the COR for this equipment. If there are any questions about this equipment, Dr. Ajit Deshmukh should be contacted. Brand Name Item: ZIMMER OSTEOTOME/EXPLANT INSTRUMENT SETS Complete generic identification Osteotome Instrument sets Applicable model/make/catalog number All instruments requested (along with their model numbers) are inside of the sets listed below. One of each item will be ordered. ****TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS**** ALL SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS OFFERED SHALL BE MADE OF SURGICAL GRADE STAINLESS STEEL OR TITANIUM. Vendor shall provide instructions for cleaning and sterilization. All items shall be NEW and not refurbished. Manufacturer name ZIMMER 2. Objectives This equipment is essential for the Orthopedic Service at the New York Campus. This equipment is needed for immediate patient care. Due to high volume of orthopedic procedures here at the Manhattan VA Medical Center the need for this product is high. This is a sole source outright purchase of commercially available medical equipment under a firm-fixed price contract. 3. Period of Performance Time of delivery: Due to patient safety issues, delivery is needed ASAP after receipt of order. This is a onetime purchase. 4. Place of Performance / Place of Delivery This equipment is to be delivered to the NY Campus of the New York Harbor Healthcare System, please notify Biomedical Engineering as soon as equipment is received.
