Description
Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) Salient Characteristics ·               Units must be designed to transition seamlessly from in-hospital use to transport mode. When Units are in transport mode, the IABP must be a size and weight that allows for easy lifting and placement into an ambulance or helicopter. Units must have backlit screens to allow easy visibility in varying lighting conditions with no alternate light source required. Units must have help screen navigation. Units must have intra-beat timing protocol to support the most challenging arrhythmic patients. ·               Units must have built in deflation timing management for safe timing. ·               Units must continually re-evaluate ECG lead performance, heart rate, heart rhythm and other factors to automatically switch to the best signal and the most appropriate trigger to support the patient. ·               Units must have on board gas surveillance system maintains constant vigilance of the delivered helium volume at all heart rates and does not automatically suspend alarms at high heart rates ·               Units must have the capability to detect the arterial pulse pressure at a range as low as 3mm Hg synchronizing pumping to CPR to support coronary perfusion and cardiac output during a code. Units must have both an Auto Mode and a Manual Mode: Required Auto Mode features: Must have fully automatic - true1 button start up, accurately timed with 1:1 support and full volume. Automatic assessment and management of proper inflation and deflation timing. Automatic trigger selection based on ECG rhythm & waveform morphologies, and the arterial pressure waveform. Automatic selection of best ECG leads based on best signal analysis. Automatic assessment of and initiation of arrhythmia timing in the event of arrhythmia. Required Manual Mode features: Allows operator (user) control of most pump functions. Units must have the following Trigger Modes: ECG (Pattern, Peak, A-FIB) Pacer (Atrial Paced, Ventricular Paced) Arterial Pressure Units battery must have 90 minute minimum battery operating time on full charge.
