- SAP Sole Source The National Science Foundation (NSF) intends to issue a purchase order to procure public awareness and support "An Evening With" (AEW) program managed and developed by the National Science & Technology Medals Foundation on a sole source basis. The National Science & Technology Medals Foundation is a nonprofit corporation that seeks to enhance the prominence of the National Medals of Science and Technology as well as the recognition of laureates and their achievements. Working through a private-public partnership with the National Science Foundation, the Medals Foundation further strives to increase public awareness that America's economic strength, competitiveness, and standard of living depend on our Nation's ability to lead the world in scientific discovery and technological development. The NSTMF's mission is to inspire the next generation of (STEM) professionals and the general public through the stories of the National Medal of Science and National Medal of Technology and Innovation Laureates. Through events such as the Evening With series and the National Medals Celebration, the NSTMF works to create a lasting connection between the public and the Science and Technology communities. The NSTMF has launched "An Evening With" (AEW) program to champion the work and lives of America's greatest scientists - National Medal of Science Laureates - and connect these extraordinary individuals to the next generation of STEM innovators. An Evening with a Laureate is a series of events that will provide a space for students to interact with NMS and NMTI Laureates. The NSTMF believes that this connection can become a powerful, positive motivating force. Every Laureate has a unique story and the NSTMF seeks to bring these personal and professional narratives into the public dialogue. The AEW program aligns with NSF's mission and goals by expanding knowledge in science, engineering, and learning and advances the capability of the Nation to meet current and future challenges. The NSTMF is the only source that can provide the AEW events, held across the country that provides students and the public one-on-one interactions with some of the best scientists in the world, the Laureates of the National Medal of Science, many of whom are NSF funded, about their experiences and their monumental contributions to society. The AEW is specifically designed to. foster discussion and an open-exchange of ideas between the nation's most accomplished scientists and those who now follow in their footsteps, shall provide opportunities for students to hear from top minds in science and technology, and the broadcast shall be live on the NSTMF's Facebook page and the broadcasts are archived online at www.nationalmedals.org and on the NSTMF's YouTube Page. Through no other single source would NSF have access to AEW events. The proposed contract action is for services for which the government intends to sponsor with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This synopsis is for information purposes only.
