Description

NOTICE OF CONTRACT ACTION:  The Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Procurement, Acquisition and Logistics, Strategic Acquisition Center (SAC), intends modify the single source Zimmer US. Inc. (Zimmer) contract under authority 38 U.S.C § 8123 and 41 U.S.C. § 253 (c), as implemented by 48 C.F.R Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) § 6.302-5, Authorized by Statue to incorporate the Biomet catalog of prosthetic implants.   Zimmer is a located at 1800 West Center Street, Warsaw, IN 46580-2304.  The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339113. The size standard is 750 employees.   The supplies to be acquired under this action are various types of prosthetic implant appliances, instrumentation sets, and procedural packages under Normal Delivery, Expedited Delivery, Just-in-Time (JIT) Delivery, and Consignment Delivery methods.   The period of performance shall remain a 1-year base with four 1-year options. This special notice is not a solicitation or request for competitive offers, quotations or proposals.   No solicitation package is available.  The determination by the Government not to compete this action is solely within the discretion of the Government.
