- PROJECT NUMBER AND TITLE: ES 00049-8 REPLACE KITCHEN HOODS AT BUILDING 5156, DARBY MILITARY COMMUNITY, ITALY; SOLICITATION # W912PF-18-Q-0031. NOTE: The purpose of this NOTE is to inform the Vendors that the information regarding the site visit have been updated, as per the below SITE VISIT paragraph. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT: This is a Design-Build project involving the replacement of the kitchen hoods and the related inlet/exhaust and air treatment system at the Italian Dining Facility, Building 5156. The first phase of work shall consist of a detailed design and all supporting necessary calculations. The second phase of work shall consist of all actions necessary for the preparation, construction and cleanup of the site according to the approved design. New hoods shall be installed at the specific equipment for which they are required and suction rates shall be in accordance with laws, good technical principles and hoods'manufacturer requirements to guarantee the correct functioning, including reasonable safety factor. The new system shall be designed to be completely equipped and operational for the intended purpose; therefore, it shall be provided with everything else indicated in the scope and/or necessary for the provision of the intended service in compliance with the governing norms. Each hood shall have a new dedicated fire-extinguishing system in accordance with NFPA 96 and UNI 16282. FUNDING: The project is currently funded. LOCATION OF THE WORK: The site of the proposed work is Darby Military Community, Livorno, Italy. MAGNITUDE OF THE PROJECT: THE MAGNITUDE OF THIS PROJECT IS BETWEEN $100,000.00 AND $250,000.00. SOA CATEGORY: OS3 AND/OR OS28, Classification I. METHOD OF CONTRACTING: This will be a Request for Quote (RFQ) resulting in a firm fixed price contract. PERFORMANCE PERIOD: The Performance Period will be 135 calendar days for design plus 75 calendar days for construction, for a total of 210 calendar days. SITE VISIT: The site visit will be held on August 27, 2018, 10:00AM, meeting site: GATE 27. HOW TO PARTICIPATE: In order to participate all interested parties will be invited to indicate their interest by submitting an email not later than Close of Business (COB) on July 20, 2018, to elisa.orsini2.ln@mail.mil. Please indicate in your e-mail the solicitation number (W912PF-18-Q-0031) and the name of the company, address, phone number, fax number, e-mail address, and name(s) of the person(s) who will be present at the site visit (maximum two persons): first name, last name, date of birth, place of birth, type and number of identification document. Please attach the Identification Document to the e-mail. Only the persons who have provided the personal data will be allowed to attend the site visit. The Guards will check the identification card at the Gate. The offerors not present on the list will be denied the entrance to the Base. MISCELLANEOUS: It is anticipated that the solicitation package, including the technical specifications, description of the work, drawings and all additional information, will be posted within few weeks on Federal Business Opportunities (www.fbo.gov). Offerors are reminded that in order to be awarded a government contract you MUST have DUNS (Dun & Bradstreet; tel: 02-28-455-379) and NCAGE (www.dlis.dla.mil/Forms/Form_AC135.asp) numbers and be registered in SAM (https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/).
