- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source purchase order to Wake Forest University Health Sciences, Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27157-1063, to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of glucose lowering drug therapies used for treating type 2 diabetes patients and provide this. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisitions is 10U.S.C 2304© (1) in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 – only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement. The NAICS code for this requirement is 611310, Colleges, Universities, and Professional Schools. The period of performance for date of award is 18 months after start award date. Wake Forest University, currently serves as the data-coordinating center for ACCORD/ACCORDION and Look AHEAD trials, which is the sole place that has access to this data. The current data collected in the two trials have been merged for other studies and this study requires access to non- publicly accessible data. The purpose of the study is to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of glucose lowering drug therapies used for treating type 2 diabetes patients. Wake Forest University is the single source needed for this project to continue the study from previous findings. As a result of this synopsis, no competitive solicitation will be posted on FedBizOps. We will issue only one solicitation to Wake Forest University. However, responsible sources that believe they can meet these requirements are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notice by providing a capability statement to the Contracting Specialist by August 3, 2018. The Contracting Specialist will not respond to verbal request. All requests must be in writing. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action will be based on responses to this notice and are solely within the discretion of the Contracting Specialist. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
