- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office requires a contract for Dredging Deep Draft, Maintenance Dredging of the Galveston Harbor and Channel project, Galveston County, Texas, Project Information: The work consists of Schedule No. 1 -Dredging of Galveston Harbor via hopper dredge or mechanical dredge and scows with offshore placement into Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS) 1. Dredging of the Galveston Harbor Section Nos. 1, 2, and 3 consists of dredging of the channel from Stations 2+000 to 16+000 and an estimated dredge volume of 1,145,000 cubic yards (CY). Option 1 work includes dredging of Galveston Harbor section No. 4 (Station 16+000 to 19+000) and an estimated dredge volume of 445,000 CY Option 2 work includes dredging of Galveston Harbor section No. 5 (Station 19+000 to 22+571.34) and an estimated dredge volume of 247,000 CY. Option 3 & 4 work includes turtle trawling and relocation. Completion Time: Schedule No. 1 and Options: 109 calendar days If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, the contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the Government in the amount of $3,038.00 for each calendar day of delay until the work is completed or accepted. The contractor will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds within (1) calendar day(s) after award. The contractor shall begin work within (5) calendar days after acknowledgement of the notice to Proceed. The Solicitation issued will be Firm Fixed Price. The magnitude of this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The solicitation is advertised as "UNRESTRICTED-FULL & OPEN COMPETITION TO BOTH LARGE & SMALL BUSINESSES". The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this project is 237990 - Dredging: To be considered small for purposes of Government procurement, a firm must perform at least 40 percent of the volume dredged with its own equipment or equipment owned by another small dredging concern. The Small Business Size Standard is $27.5 Million. The solicitation will be issued on or about 6 August 2018. Response date is 5 September 2018 @ 2:00 PM (All bids must be submitted electronically via AMRDEC Safe). The estimated award date for this project is 24 September 2018. Subcontracting goals for the Galveston District are: 50.0% - Small Business; 17.0% - Small Disadvantaged Business; 18.0% - Woman-Owned Small Business; 10.0% - HubZone Small Business; 8.5% - Veteran-Owned Small Business and 4.0% - Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business.
