Description
SCOPE OF WORK (SOW) This work consists of furnishing all labor, tools, equipment, and materials to conduct two exploratory borings adjacent to the Big Four Boardwalk to determine the subsurface materials for a new boardwalk foundation. The Boardwalk begins at the trailhead and is 760ft long. Borings shall be conducted at location designated by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) at approximate Stations 2+20 and 6+20 as shown on the attached plan sheet for the project area. Each boring shall be 30ft deep with standard penetration tests completed at 5ft intervals. The anticipated material to be encountered is a combination of soil and rock. ESTIMATED DATE THE REQUEST FOR QUOTATION (RFQ) WILL BE ISSUED On or after fifteen (15) calendar days from the date of this presolicitation notice. PROJECT LOCATION The project road is located on the Mt Baker Ranger District. The project is located at the Big Four Trail Head on the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest on the Darrington Ranger District (Latitude: 48°4'4"; Longitude: -121° 30'51") (T30N, R9E, Sec 22, SW ¼, SW ¼). From I-5 at Marysville, WA take exit 200 and go East on 88th Street NE for 2 miles; continue on Ingraham Blvd for 1.1 miles; continue on 84th St NE/Getchell Rd for 5.2 miles; turn left onto WA-92 East for 1.2 miles; at traffic circle take exit onto WA-92 West/Quarry Road for 2 miles; Turn left onto Mountain Loop Highway and proceed 24.6 miles to Big Four Trail Head and project site. CONTRACT TYPE SELECTION This project will be solicited as a firm-fixed-price commercial item service contract. PRE-BID MEETING A pre-bid meeting will not be held. The USDA Forest Service's expectation is that parties intending to submit a quotation for this project are to visit the project site. DESIRED DATE FOR STARTING WORK August 20, 2018 PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE Fourteen (14) calendar days.
