- Description
- The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity(USAMRAA) in support of the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System's - Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory (AFMES-AFDIL) intends to award a sole source Firm-Fixed Price contract to Charles H. Brenner (CAGE CODE:4HHX7) for DNA View software maintenance and support. Specifically, to maintain continuity and leverage AFMES' existing investment with the DNA View platform, the software and maintenance must be provided by Charles H. Brenner. DNA View software is a forensic mathematics computer program which analyzes genetic data. The program includes forensic identification calculations, kinship, disaster screening module paternity calculations, import of Genotype/Gene Mapper data, and data analysis. The DNA laboratory currently uses this software to support in investigations for paternity cases, crime cases, disasters, and various research. This proprietary software owned by Dr. Charles Brenner is the only software that is suitable for interfacing with the modern version of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), called Laboratory Information Systems Applications (LISA), and can meet the requirements of the AFMES-AFDIL. This requirement is a one (1) year base period and four (4) option years to provide annual technical support and software maintenance to include system upgrades. The current contract, W81XWH-13-P-0469, for DNA View software maintenance and support expires on 30 September 2018. The purchase of the software and maintenance is required for the continued support to the mission of the AFDIL at AFMES.
