- The US Department of Agriculture in Parlier CA. has a requirement for the controlled atmosphere chambers used routinely to develop novel phytosanitary treatments for the California specialty crop industry. It is absolutely critical that an upgrade to the gas modulation system is conducted and gas ballasts are re-installed. The upgrades and replacements must be conducted by California Controlled atmosphere to ensure proper functionality with the existing infrastructural and electronic components, which were installed by California Controlled Atmosphere in ca. 2000. In addition, a California Controlled Atmosphere service specialist is needed to verify proper function, ultimately attain optimal performance, and train users. Improper repair of the system could result in damage to existing infrastructural and electronic components. A solicitation is not available for this requirement and the USDA ARS intends to make an award to California Controlled Atmosphere on a sole source basis. Interested firms are encouraged to present proposals to the attention of Fred Gifford as listed in this notice for commercial products which can perform the same function as presented above.
