The Department of the Air Force, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division (HBQ), Peterson AFB, CO intends to award a sole source contract to Raytheon (CAGE 9S509) IAW FAR 6.302-1 to design/produce obsolete Receiver Exciter (REX) Line Replaceable Units (LRU) for the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS) and PAVE Phase Array Warning System (PAWS) (BMEWS/PAVE PAWS) (BPP) sites. This effort will support Government requirements to provide sustainment support for BPP sites for the AFLCMC Battle Management Directorate, Strategic Warning & Surveillance Systems Division (HBQR). The Receiver Exciter (REX) is a major critical component of the BPP radars that generates all required Ultra High Frequency (UHF) transmit signals and UHF test signals for the radar. The REX also receives and processes all required UHF receive signals and provides digitized baseband signals to the radar system Signal Processor. The REX LRU Obsolescence contract will purchase six types of Generation 3 LRUs in various quantities as identified below (59 total LRUs) for the BPP test and integration suite at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado: Digital Waveform Generator 10 Hardware Controller 8 Phase Lock Oscillator 4 Digital Down Converter 26 Single Board Computer 4 Exciter Upconverter 7 Total 59 The anticipated North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334511 - Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical Systems and Instrument Manufacturing. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. No other communications will be entertained. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and proposal costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. Although "proposal" and "offeror" are used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. This is a sole source procurement under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). A Justification and Approval for this action will be published within 14 days after contract award.
