- This Sources Sought notice is being posted to satisfy the requirement of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement 206.302-1(d). The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), New Jersey intends to procure preventative maintenance, parts repair and system technical support of Thermo Scientific spectrometers including ARL 3460 Optical Emission Spectrometer, ARL QUANT'X EDXRF, and Nicolet In10 and iZ10. Thermo Scientific is the manufacturer of these parts, and holds the proprietary rights and technical data for the equipment. THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION FOR COMPETITVE PROPOSALS. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis to Thermo Scientific under the statutory authority of 10 USC 2304(C)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation will be available for this procurement. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit or award a contract. Responses must be received within three (3) days of publication of this notice.
