- Description
- This is Amendment no. 003 to previously synopsized combined synopsis/solicitation requesting quotes for removing structures, pilings, and docks from 18 property sites within Olympic National Park. This amendment is necessary to provide final Questions/Answers (Q&A). QUESTIONS/ANSWERS (Q&A) are as follows: QUESTION #1 (staging area at Lake Crescent): Interested contractor stated they will be using a barge for demo of the properties on Lake Crescent, and asked if there is a beach/boat launch area available to use as a staging area. ANSWER to #1: OLYM does not yet have project compliance approved to perform water work. What this means is that Quoters need to plan for removing structures by land, not by water barge or boat. However, a work boat can be utilized for removal of the pilings only, and Quoter can use the boat launch as staging area for this purpose. QUESTION #2 (staging area at Lake Crescent): Are there any seasonal restrictions for use of this area? ANSWER to #2: Refer to Attachment no. 4, Scope of Work, Section 1.1 for explicit seasonal restrictions. The only other seasonal restrictions would be weather dependent. In the event that the ground becomes too saturated to move equipment around on and/or to re-contour, compact and scarify, work activities should cease until such time that these activities could continue (refer specifically to Attachment no. 1, Combined Synopsis-Solicitation Full Text, Section 03 - Period of Performance). QUESTION #3 (equipment): Is it allowable to drive steel track machinery with rubber pads on it (that doesn't let the cleats touch the ground) down the East Beach Road a short distance vs. trucking it? ANSWER to #3: Yes. QUESTION #4 (equipment): What is the weight limit on the East Beach Road? ANSWER to #4: OLYM is not aware of any weight restrictions on this road. QUESTION #5 (equipment): What is the weight limit on Camp David Junior Road, specifically for the Tinkham Property? ANSWER to #5: OLYM is not aware of any weight limit on this road. QUESTION #6 (Lake Crescent properties): Because of the proximity to water is there a SWPPP requirement for the Lake Crescent properties? ANSWER to #6: Yes, a SWPPP is required. Refer to Attachment 4, Scope of Work, Part 2 - Submittals. The response date is not changed. QUOTES ARE STILL DUE BY 4:30PM (PST) ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 10, 2018.
