Description

The Department of Veteran Affairs, Iowa City, IA, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement under the authority FAR 6.302-3 with the University of Iowa for the period of 6/1/2018 to 2/28/2019. The University of Iowa will provide labor, materials, and consultation services to the Iowa City VA Health Care System in relation to the specific aims outlined in Dr. Laura Dutca s VA grant. These include: 1) To identify molecular changes in GABAergic synaptic transmission induced by mild TBI in the retina and brain. 2) To identify GABAAergic pharmacological agents that selectively regulates the abnormal neuronal activity induced by mild TBI in the retina and the brain. The performance period for these services shall be for the period of June 1, 2018 February 28, 2019. It is necessary to use the services of the University of Iowa to meet the requirements of the grant proposal under the grant # B2003-W 'Mechanisms of neuronal dysfunction in mild traumatic brain injury Principal Investigator: Laura Dutca, PhD. Interested parties may identify their experience in providing these services to the Contracting Officer via e-mail at gary.rogers4@va.gov or fax 319-358-6430. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Request for quotes 36C26318Q0646 for above requirement, NAICS 611310, size standard $33.5 million will be issued on 6/1/2018. The deadline to submit a quote is 5/25/2018.
