Description
THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. The USDA/ARS intends to award a Firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), only one responsible source, to: Ximea Corp. 8725 W 14 th Ave. Suite 110 Lakewood, CO 80215 Description of Requirement: The objective of this sole source award is to procure the following items: 1 each MQO22HG-IM-LS150-VISNIR camera. For prototype development of our next-generation and upgraded hand-held imaging devices for food safety inspection applications, hyperspectral sensor system needs to be installed in a confined space in the existing hand-held imaging device. The entire line-scan hyperspectral sensor system must fit into 30x30x40 mm housing space and weigh less than 50 g. Traditional hyperspectral sensors from other vendors are bulky and heavy, which cannot be used to develop the proposed prototype portable hand-held systems for use by human inspectors. XIMEA Corp makes the smallest and lightest line-scan hyperspectral sensor system in the market. The proposed XiSpec system (model MQ022HG-IM-LS150-VISNIR) employs unique filter arrangement at the wafer-level on top of the pixel structure of the sensor. This allows Ximea line-scan hypersepctral imaging system to be very light weight (32g), compact (26 x 26 x 31 mm), and can achieve up to 850 lines/sec speed with over 150 spectral bands from 470-900 nm. Such compact and light line-scan hypersepctral sensor system is needed to develop our next-generation portable hand-held imaging devices. The NAICS code for this requirement is 333316; the small business size standard is 1,000 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. All information received by 3:00 PM Central Time on August 17, 2018, will be considered by the Government. Responses shall be submitted to Kristen Turner at Kristen.turner@ars.usda.gov. The e-mail subject line shall state: 1232SC18P-924617 Notice of Intent to Sole Source. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL BE HONORED.
