- The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to acquire expression of eukaryotic transposases in Expi293 cells from Life Technologies Corporation by other than full and open competition under the authority of FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisitions. The current projects at the NIDDK involve the study of eukaryotic transposases and have established an expression system in a specialized in line of mammalian cells, Expi293 cells. To continue this project in a timely manner, a large amount of cell culture media is required to ensure that suitable material is available for structural studies and only Life Technologies sells the media required to continue the current projects. Vendors may identify in writing their interest and capability in response to this requirement or submit a proposal. However, all responses received before the closing date of this announcement will be considered by the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
