- Notice Type: Posted Date: Intent to Award to a Sole Source August 15, 2018 Original Set Aside: Response Date: Open Market-Non-Competitive August 22, 2018 @ 4:30 PM EST Classification Code: NAICS Code: J066 Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Equip. 811219 Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance Instruments and Laboratory Equipment Synopsis: The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 7; WJB Dorn VA Medical Center located in Columbia, South Carolina; hereby provides notice of its intent to award a sole source contract for: Service for preventative maintenance for the Illumina Next Sequencer T-500 System. To: ILLUMINA INC 5200 ILLUMINA WAY SAN DIEGO, CA 92122 No solicitation will be forthcoming; this is a notice of intent and is not a request for competitive proposals, pursuant to: FAR 13.106-1, Soliciting Competition - (b) Soliciting from a single source. (1) For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold, (i) Contracting Officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand name or industrial mobilization). Any vendor who believes it is capable of meeting this requirement and not void any warranties may contact the Contract Specialist no later than 4:30 p.m. EST August 22, 2018 at jeffrey.west3@va.gov. Please include a letter of authorization from Illumina, Inc granting permission to perform preventative maintenance on this equipment. No telephone responses will be accepted. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
