- Description
- Total small business set-aside. Proposals are due by 9/19/18 at 5 p.m. CST. Please send all proposals to van.ctr.nicholson@faa.gov. Site visit at noon on August 28th. See contact information for site visit in Section L of the attached SIR. The scope of work is to replace the (2) existing 70 foot guyed antenna towers, with (2) new 70 foot free standing antenna towers, replace the RF heliax cables from the towers to a new fiberglass junction box to be installed on the South exterior wall of the existing equipment shelter, counterpoise around each tower and related work as specified and indicated by the drawings and/or specifications, which are part of this contract. After the contractor installs each of the antenna tower foundations, assembles and erects each tower and installs the heliax cables, the FAA will then install new LMR-400 cables and antennas on the top of each tower, and cables from the junction boxes into the equipment shelter to each of the equipment racks. After the connectors are installed on each cable, the cables are installed to each rack/radio, and all testing has been completed, the FAA will allow the contractor to remove and demolish all of the guyed towers. The FAA may take up to three weeks to complete the electronic installation from the time that the antenna towers are made available to the FAA until the time that the contractor can start demolition. The contractor will remove the steel towers down to the existing foundation and cut flush with same foundation. The guy wires will be removed to 18 below grade. The foundations will not have to be removed.
