This is not a request for quotes. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must be received no later than August 21, 2018, by sending an e-mail to kcamacho@blm.gov; however, any technical data received will be for the sole purpose of market research for future requirements. Under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), BLM-AK/Alaska Fire Service intends to issue a sole source, firm-fixed price order to: COMPANY:Business Interiors Northwest of Alaska, LLC, DUNS: 807418921 FOR :$11,259.55 ON:08/21/2018 NAICS:337211Wood Office Furniture Manufacturing AUTHORITY:8.405-6(a)(2) Limited Sources Justification and Approval 13.106(b) Soliciting from a single source FAR 6.302-2 Unusual and compelling urgency. Determinations not to compete this proposed procurement were made because: Alaska Fire Service has previously purchased systems furniture, specifically Herman Miller. Due to budget constraints it is necessary to match existing systems furniture rather than re-purchase new systems every time space management requires a new configuration. Current configuration and stockpile will not allow us to complete the new workstations required. We have checked other companies and Herman Miller is the only source that can match our existing system series. It is not interchangeable with other manufacturers.
