- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 19 (NCO19) intends to award a firm fixed price, sole source contract to Medivators Inc. 14605 28th Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55447. The intended period of performance for contract award will be from September 1, 2018, through August 31, 2023. This requirement is for annual Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Repair Support Services, on an as-needed basis, for seven (7) automated endoscope reprocessors (AER), used as scope washing units by the sterile processing department (SPD) at the Oklahoma VA Health Care System, 921 NE 13th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73104. Services are to be performed to OEM standards, with the intent of ensuring the equipment operates as the original manufacturer intended, in a cost-effective, efficient manner, contributing to the VA Mission. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811219. Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM): Medivators, Inc. OEM Product Name: Advantage Plus Scope Reprocessors Unit Number Serial Number Unit 1 66109168 Unit 2 66109150 Unit 3 66109149 Unit 4 66109148 Unit 5 66965513 Unit 6 66109159 Unit 7 66109146 The AER washer units are highly specialized in that they must be maintained to FDA standards to maintain optimum health and avoid infection risks for VA patients. If FDA compliance is to be maintained on these units then all repairs and services must be performed by authorized OEM trained technicians with access to new OEM parts. Gray parts are not authorized. Medivators, Inc. has not authorized any third-party service provider to perform maintenance and repair on Medivators, Inc. products. Complete and thorough training for major repairs is limited to technicians working for Medivators, Inc. OEM parts and methods are constantly being improved upon and updated, to maintain optimum FDA compliance, and OEM trained technicians are the first to receive the specific training on updated parts and how to incorporate these into major repairs. MEDIVATORS, INC. is the only company capable of providing the supplies and services described herein without the Veteran s Health Administration experiencing substantial duplication of cost that could not be expected to be recovered through competition. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES, however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification prior to the response due date and time. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements. Responses received will be evaluated, however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the award. Responses are due by August 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. (CT).
