- Description
- The following questions were asked. Approriate respones can be found below each question. 1. Does the user require administrative privileges to view inventory, or do they need the ability to issue & return inventory? All users will need administrative privileges and the ability to issue and return inventory, since we all do the same job and everybody is responsible for keeping the inventory updated and secured. 2. Confirm the database housing the inventory will be a hosted (Internet / online) database or will reside on the customer's network? How the database will be kept will depend on what kind of technology the vendor is able to provide. We are requesting an inventory system with a database, but it does not matter if the database is saved in a cloud, in house PC hard drive, or in an external server. As long as is secured, safe, accessible, reliable, and inexpensive, that would be the route to go. 3. Is there an IATO or IT approvals requirement? Yes. Air Force Civil Engineering and Air Force Communications will need to approve any network installation. The network will need to be provided by the vendor using a commercial network provider. If remote customer service/troubleshooting is offered by the vendor, they will need to use a private network, include this expense in the contract and request the necessary authorizations to perform the installation and use. 4. Will internet access be provided? No. The network will need to be provided by the vendor using a commercial network provider. 5. Could you please confirm Room 257 Main Stock Room will connect to Room 347 Uniform Issue Room via network connection to share 1 database or if they require individual stand-alone databases? Both rooms will need to be connected via network connection. In this way, we will be able to monitor in real-time, the inventory for each room. 6. Could you provide the number of items to track? At the Uniform Issue Room we need to be able to track up to 9,413 items. At the Main Stock Room we need to track up to 11,797 for a combined total of 21,210. 7. Could you provide Images, or description of how items are issued / returned? Students show up at the Uniform Issue Room. After a small briefing about what needs to be returned and the no exchange policy, we start issuing the uniforms. Once they receive the items (the amount of items depends on the course need; from shirts, shorts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, tennis shoes, boots, coveralls, to tops and bottoms, sand T shirts, bags with socks, a towel, an ID holder and a reflective belt) they sign a paper that we fill manually with the sizes and amount of items issued. Once the course is completed, we will retrieve some of the items at a mass out-processing appointment by course and return the items to their original locations.
