- United States Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Research Service, in Beltsville, Maryland 20705, Intends to award a Sole Source procurement to the vendor: Intersciences Laboratories, Inc. located at 32 Cummings Park in Woburn, Mass. 01801 at phone no. 781-812-6389 The following is USDA's requirement: USDA requires a quantity of one each of the easySpiral Dilute instrument, which is an automated system for spiral plating, a standard microbiological technique frequently performed in our lab. Out of the spiral platers currently on the market, the easySpiral Dilute is the only known unit that USDA ARS EMFSL is aware of that has automated diluting capabilities, which saves USDA personnel time, labor, materials, and reagents and produces significant plastic and biohazard waste. The easySpiral Dilute performs these dilutions in an automated fashion requiring only half the diluent typical used and can perform -one disinfection, five dilutions, and one plating in one hunmdred and thirty-three seconds. This required unit also allows for plating multiple dilutions on one petri plate which can cut additional plastic and reagent needs and waste.
