Description

VETERANS AFFAIRS MEDICAL CENTER, Wilkes Barre, PA GENERAL INFORMATION FOLLOWED BY A TENTATIVE STATEMENT OF WORK NOTICE: This is not a solicitation but rather a Request for Information (RFI) (Sources Sought) to determine capability of potential sources and is for information and planning purposes only. Veterans Health Affairs, Network Contracting Office 4, is issuing this request for information/sources sought notice in order to identify capable firms to provide the CODE Model 2600 Barcode Readers (Scanner), part number CR2611-PKXXX package manufactured by the Code Corporation are needed as replacement/back-ups to existing readers (scanners) that are used on the Med Carts and Treatment Carts. Presently, these readers (scanners) are used for patient care provided 24/7. In the event there is failure of any readers (scanners), without replacements available, a disruption in patient care flow, timeliness of treatment and an adverse impact in providing patient centered care will occur. The barcode readers must be compatible with the current XXXXXX Part number CR2611-PKXXX CODE Model 2600 Barcode Reader Package includes Barcode Reader model CR2600 (CR2611_01) model CR2600 Palm Barcode Reader, Bluetooth, Battery, Mountable Palm Charge station, USB cable. Responses must be submitted by COB September 4th, 2018. Submit responses to the information requested above via email to jami.cade@va.gov. All SDVOSB and VOSB firms that respond shall include proof of CVE certification via www.vip.vetbiz.gov. All small business firms that respond shall include proof of small business status via their Representations and Certifications in accordance with (FAR 4.1102 Policy). While SDVOSB/VOSB contractors are preferred, all capable contractors are welcome to respond to this source sought notice for market research purposes, and shall include as part of their response a brief capability statement that covers the information in the following tentative statement of work. The results of this market research will assist in the development of (1) the requirement, and (2) the acquisition strategy (e.g., socioeconomic set-aside, full and open competition, etc.). VA assumes no responsibility for any costs incurred associated with the preparation of responses. If there are more appropriate NAICS and/or PSC codes than what is suggested, please include as part of your full sources sought response. Tentative/Sample Statement of Work: Background: Needed is an ergonomically designed barcode reader/scanner with high performance reading technology for medication administration. Should have an easy to clean water and debris resistant housing with rechargeable battery with charging station and battery status indicator. Should have a wide field of view with glare reduction and be able to scan rounded, curved, and shiny surfaces. Salient Features: Handheld, lightweight, ergonomic Wide field of view Glare reduction for ease of reading codes on shiny surfaces High speed, omnidirectional bar code reading Able to scan rounded, curved and shiny surfaces Vibrate, audible tone, and LED signals for good read Rechargeable battery w/charging station LED battery status indicator Programmable buttons for customizing workflow Water and debris resistant housing Easy to clean with common cleaning solutions Paging button to locate reader Minimum memory - 128MB ROM, 32MB RAM Minimum 3 year warranty Up to 50,000 scans per charge Installation: Vendor shall unpack and setup equipment which will be comprehensive to allow immediate use upon completion. This will include testing the tub and verifying functionality is met to the satisfaction of the government.
