Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for services in which the government intends to acquire in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Fisheries Science Center, Auke Bay Laboratories has a requirement. Objective is for maintenance assistance to perform general labor to assist with the operation and maintenance of the Auke Bay Laboratory facilities in Juneau Alaska. The successful contractor will be expected to provide general maintenance assistance on facilities infrastructure as well as grounds upkeep and snow removal. Position will involve operation of government vehicles, forklifts, and snow removal equipment. The individual contractor will be required will maintain a minimum 30-hour per week schedule. The primary facility will be the ABL facilities in Juneau, and may involve travel at government expense to Little Port Walter, a remote field station on Baranoff Island. This position is also expected to assist in snow removal prior to the beginning of the normal work day as required. Work may also be required after hours at other ABL Juneau campuses to receive the materials, personnel, and equipment. The contractor will be providing general unskilled labor to assist the facilities and science staff at the Auke Bay Laboratory Facilities. Duties to include but are not limited to: oSnow removal (snow plowing, snow blowing, shoveling, and sanding/salting of roads, walkways, docks, floats, and piers). oTrails, grounds, lawn and landscape maintenance and repair. oPeriodic Preventive Equipment Maintenance oSampling and Testing of TSMRI waste treatment system. oAssistance to facilities maintenance personnel while conducting basic maintenance and repairs to facility. The successful candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications: •The successful contractor will be able to document previous experience performing general labor related to the specific tasks listed and provide 3 references. See attached Statement of Work for more information. All interested concerns must submit a quotation and documentation demonstrating the qualifications to provide services as described above within fifteen (15) days of the publication date of this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotations are being requested and a written solicitation has been issued. A firm-fixed order is anticipated to be issued in within 24 hours of closing date and time.
