Description
In general, the work consists of the following: Barracks 251 Repairs, Fort Irwin, San Bernardino County, CA. This project is needed to repair failing building systems and deteriorated infrastructure in Building 251, a three story, Enlisted Unoccupied Personnel Housing Barracks facility. These repairs are in support of the Garrison Command which provides standardized, effective and efficient services, facilities and infrastructure to the soldiers of the National Training Center at Fort Irwin California, their families and civilian support in the execution of the NTC mission. These repairs also envision a model for enhancing safety, well-being, and readiness in the defense of our country. The project will repair deteriorated and failing building systems to include windows, doors, HVAC and controls, mechanical/plumbing system, electrical system, lighting and lighting controls with replacement systems that are energy efficient. Exterior repair include the removal of existing insulation and stucco with exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS). This project will include the replacement of fire alarm controls systems with a mass notification system to meet building codes. The existing fire sprinkler system is deteriorating and will also be replaced along with floors, ceilings, and walls. This project will bring the facility up to the current health safety code and anti-terrorism and force protection standards and include the installation of a solar hot water heating system and solar PV to offset power requirements during the daylight hours.
