Description
Purchase Order LCCRS18P0034 Justification and Approval The Library's (LOC) mission is to make its resources available and useful to the Congress and the American people and to sustain and preserve a universal collection of knowledge and creativity for future generations. The Congressional Research Service (CRS) within LOC sponsors the New Member Seminar as part of executing its mission to provide Congress with authoritative, objective, nonpartisan, and confidential research services. New Members of Congress (new Members), who are elected in November 2018, will assume office in January 2019 ready to formulate, debate, and vote on legislation covering a wide spectrum of critical policy issues. However, few of the newly elected Members are fully prepared for the range of National problems requiring legislative action. The goal of the New Member Seminar is to help the new House of Representatives Members transition quickly and confidently into their legislative roles in order to effectively represent their constituents and make informed legislative choices from start of their terms in office. The Contractor shall provide meeting and lodging facilities and other amenities for the New Member Seminar, which will enable newly elected Members of the House of Representatives to gain knowledge in accordance with the Seminar's goal. Required services include- • Sleeping Rooms • Food and Beverage • Meeting rooms for Member, spouse and children's programs, and others • Audio visual support • Children's program and activities • Miscellaneous such as baggage handling, administrative, security
