Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District intends to initiate a sources sought notice to gather market research to identify resources available to provide a crawler crane capable of performing lock gate placement, debris and rock removal/placement, and channel maintenance dredging work. This sources sought notice is for INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. This is NOT a REQUEST for PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS, or BIDS. Responses to this request will not be returned. Not responding to this sources sought does not preclude participation in any future and potential solicitation. It is the intent of the Contracting Office to use this information for market research purposes only. The Government WILL NOT pay for the provision of any information, nor will it compensate any respondents for the development of any such information. If a formal solicitation is released, it will be via the Federal Business Opportunities (http:www.fbo.gov). The Mobile District of the Corps of Engineers intends to procure one (1) crawler crane for use on a newly constructed barge servicing the Columbus Area Office. Its mission will be to perform snagging operations, debris and rock removal and channel maintenance for the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway from its beginning at the junction of the Tombigbee and Black Warrior Rivers, at Mile 217, to its end at the junction of the Tombigbee and Tennessee Rivers, at Mile 450.7. It will also set and remove stop logs (heavy lift) and provides general support for lock repairs. The new crawler crane shall be built in accordance with the minimum standards of ASME B 30.5 - Mobile and Locomotive Cranes and ASME/ANSI B30.8 - Floating Cranes and Floating Derricks. The crane shall have the following characteristics: -Operating Parameters: Grapple rip rap operation, Snagging Operations, Heavy lifting, Personnel handling, Clam Shell Dredging -Maximum 25ft tail swing -48" minimum wide flat crawler pads -45 sTon at 70ft radius using a 180ft boom with 3 degree machine list -25 sTon at 50ft radius using a 150ft boom with 2 or 3 degree machine list -5sTon at any radius using auxiliary hoist -Personnel handling for one personnel basket and three people -Powered Tagline -There shall be no re-spooling of wire between lift types required. -Capability to switch between heavy lift and duty cycle without re-spooling the hoist drum wire rope, re-reeving of lift block acceptable. -Hydraulic Tilting Cab The contractor shall be responsible for delivery and installation of the crane onto the newly constructed barge. The installation consist of: providing on-site support during assembly, crawling or lifting crane onto barge platform, and performing testing of the crane while in floating service. Each submission shall not exceed 5 pages total. Additionally, all Services Disabled/Veterans Owned Business or Veterans Owned Small Business must be registered with the Department of Veterans Affairs Center of Veterans Enterprise Vet Biz Registry located at https://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/.
