- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to solicit and award a contract for engineering and technical design tasks in support of Research and Development (R&D) of advanced submarine technologies for current and future submarine platforms projects. The contemplated contract will also contain an ordering provision for material, prototype hardware, and minor R&D projects. Solicitation N00024-19-R-2103 will be issued to Electric Boat Corporation, 75 Eastern Point Road, Groton, CT 06340 on a sole source basis. Parties interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Electric Boat Corporation directly. This notice is for informational purposes only. Solicitation documents are not available. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination of the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This pre-solicitation notice is for information only and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to solicit contractual offers or award contracts. The Government is not soliciting, nor will it accept, proposals as a result of this synopsis. The Government will not reimburse respondents for any questions submitted or information provided as a result of this notice. This is not a solicitation or a promise to issue a solicitation, and this information is subject to modification and in no way binds the Government to award a contract.
