- Sources Sought (1) Action Code : SOURCES SOUGHT This is a Sources Sought Notice only. This is not a request for proposal, but a survey to locate potential sources. This Sources Sought does not constitute an Invitation for Bids, Request for Proposals, or a Request for Quotations, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue an order or otherwise pay for the information solicited, nor is it a guarantee of a forthcoming solicitation or contract. It is for market research purposes only. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities, and qualifications of various members of industry, to include the Small Business Community: Small Business, Section 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUB-Zone), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB). The Government must ensure there is adequate competition among the potential pool of responsible contractors. Small business, Section 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, & EDWOSB businesses are highly encouraged to participate. (2) Date : 16 October 2018 (3) Classification Code : 66 (4) NAICS Code: 334516 (5) NAICS Size Standard: 1000 employees (6) Contracting Office Address: 2800 Powder Mill Road Bldg. 601 Adelphi, Maryland 20783 (7) Subject: Sources Sought for One (1) Bioprinter base unit with the following accessories: one (1) 405 nm (nanometer) LED (Light emitting diodes) module, one (1) 365 nm LED module, one (1) 265 nm LED module, four (4) 30cc (cubic centimeter) heated syringe mount with glass syringe, fourteen (14) solenoid micro valves, three (3) micro stepping drivers, one (1) laser engraver, eight (8) Fitted 30cc anodized aluminum syringe mounts, eight (8) Fitted 10cc anodized aluminum syringe mounts, eight (8) Fitted 5cc anodized aluminum syringe mounts, eight (8) Fitted 3cc anodized aluminum syringe mounts, eight (8) Fitted 1cc anodized aluminum syringe mounts, one (1) air compressor. Objective: To find sources that are qualified to meet the supplies/services as listed in section 11B. Note that the specific requirements in section C are subject to change prior to the release of any solicitation. B. Salient Characteristics: 1) Built-in controller and program to prepare CAD files to print, g-code for tool path 2) Built-in Camera for machine vision print monitoring 3) Automatic print platform leveling, offset, and line width calibration 4) Able to mount syringes from 1 cc to 30 cc 5) Able to print two Filament Deposition Modeling filaments at the same time 6) Able to accept custom made ink and resins for printing 8) Build-in Ultra-Violet (UV) lamps at discreet wavelengths (405 nm, 365 nm, 265 nm) for curing 9) Built-in laser for engraving and thermal curing 10) Built-in microvalve for spraying resins 11) Heated mount to heat up syringe for extrusion 12) Printing Stage with Heating Capabilities 13) Enclosure for safe operation 14) Minimum build volume 300 mm (millimeter) x 200 mm (millimeter) x 100 mm (millimeter) 15) At least 0.5 nm Z-axis resolution 16) At least 1 micron X/Y-axis resolution 17) Able to print at least twenty (20) different materials at once. 18) Able to perform CNC (Computer Numeric Control) machining 18) Shipping to Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
