Description
Osan Architectural Compatibility Plan Submittal Register Drawings Solicitation 2. PRINCIPLE FEATURES: This project is K-work (repair) and also includes the following principle features: 2.1. ARCHITECTURAL WORKS: All works shall be in accordance with the attached particular specifications and contract drawings. The targeted HASs in this project are B1675 & 1676 in "B" Diamond Area. 2.1.1 Provide double steel pipe scaffolding around the buildings including fabricating and dismantling. 2.1.2 Repair moving cracks larger than 3mm (1/8 inch) in diameter shall be routed out filled using and approved urethane caulk or other crack repair materials. Cracks larger than 6 mm (1/4 inch) in diameter shall be routed out and fitted with approved polyethylene backer rod prior to caulking or applying other crack repair materials. 2.1.3 Clean and prepare the concrete surfaced areas with water jet cleaning such as exterior arched roof, roof over baffle, exterior wall of baffle, exterior wall of bulkhead & rear to apply acrylic fluid-applied water proofing coating system by removing all loose/flaking particles, grease, laitance, jagged steel reinforcing bar, dust, dirt and other contaminants. 2.1.4 After removing any loose debris and contamination from the existing pits or holes or cracks all over the concrete surfaced areas, fill them with approved concrete repair materials so that they are flush with the surrounding substrate. 2.1.5 Spalled sections of the concrete should be resurfaced using approved slurry-coat of concrete repair materials, troweled smooth over the affected area and prepare the concrete surfaced areas with concrete grinding and plastering to correct irregularities and roughness. 2.1.6 Apply primer of foundation coat - reinforcing fabric - second base coat - finish coat - second finish coat on the concrete surfaced areas according to the standard procedure of acrylic fluid-applied water proofing coating system. The total dry film thickness (DFT) required at any locations shall be at least 40 mils more and the colors shall be according to the HAS exterior finish standard in Osan AB architectural compatibility plan. 2.1.7 Clean and prepare the ferrous surface areas such as interior metal arched panel (SSPC SP 10), shelter door trim (SSPC SP 6), personnel door/frame (SSPC SP 6), metal plate (SSPC SP 6), rear door (SSPC SP 6) according to SSPC (Steel Structure Painting Council) procedure of standard surface preparation (SP) in the O&MA Specification. 2.1.8 Apply the MPI (Master Painters Institute) approved epoxy gloss paint/coating with the primer designated by manufacturer on the interior metal arched panels including all electrical and mechanical items. The color shall be according to the HAS interior finish standard in Osan AB architectural compatibility plan. 2.1.9 Apply the MPI approved alkyd exterior semi-gloss or exterior water-based light industrial coating semi-gloss paint/coating with the MPI approved alkyd anti-corrosive metal primer on the shelter door trim, personnel door/frame, metal plate, rear door. The color shall be according to the HAS interior finish standard in Osan AB architectural compatibility plan. 2.1.10 Apply the MPI approved exterior latex flat paint/coating with primer on the concrete surfaced shelter door inside and outside. The color shall be according to the HAS interior finish standard in Osan AB architectural compatibility plan. 2.1.11 Re-stencil the building numbers and warning signs on existing wall, door, and floor of the HASs as it used to be. 2.1.12 Remove all debris originated from this project and clean up the job site. 2.1.13 The contractor shall be responsible to repair all damages to existing areas caused by this project and to match condition to adjacent areas.
