Description

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, KBA NotaSys, S.A., under the authority of FAR subpart 13.106-1(b)(i). KBA NotaSys is the only responsible source and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy the agency's requirement for Super Orloff Intaglio (SOI) Presses Controller Replacement Kits. KBA NotaSys will provide these kits and install them on BEP SOI presses 601, 602, 901, and 902 located at the Washington, DC Currency Facility. KBA NotaSys is the original equipment manufacturer of the SOI presses and is the only source that has the expertise to provide and install the kits. This notice of intent to solicit and negotiate an award of a sole source contract is not a request for competitive proposals, quote or an invitation for bids. Responsible sources may provide a capabilities statement for consideration by the BEP no later than October 17, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. EST. Any cost associated with the preparation and submission of data or information or any other costs incurred in responding to this notice is the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed requirement upon receipt of any responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
