- The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought Notice is to seek out qualified vendors who have experience in hot-dip galvanizing metal pallets. This announcement is in support of market research performed by the Army Contract Command - Rock Island to determine interest and capability. This RFI is for informational purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to procure any supplies or services, or for the Government to pay for the information received. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this RFI or any follow-up information request. Consequently, no solicitation is being issued at this time. Therefore, no award will be made as a result of providing this information. McAlester Army Ammunition Plant (MCAAP), located in McAlester, Oklahoma, requires hot-dip galvanizing of metal pallets. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 332812 defined as Metal Coating, Engraving (except Jewelry and Silverware), and Allied Services to Manufacturers. It is anticipated the procurement will result in a 3-5 year firm-fixed-price contract. All deliveries were be on an FOB Origin basis. This requirement is for galvanizing of the following metal pallets: MK79; MHU-187 A/E; MHU-122 E, and MK80. MCAAP personnel will deliver ungalvanized pallets to the contractor's facility and pick up completed, previously galvanized metal pallets on the same day. Any potential vendor must be located and perform all the work within a 200 mile driving radius of McAlester, Oklahoma. The hot dip galvanizing service shall be in accordance with ASTM 123/ASTM 123A. All interested vendors must provide the following information: 1. Statement of your firm's intention to bid and how it intends to meet the requirements stated above 2. DUNS, CAGE Code, Tax ID, and Point of Contact Information 3. Number of employees (for business size verification) 4. Type of Socioeconomic Business Class (Examples: Disadvantaged, Veteran Owned, HubZone, Women Owned, 8(a), ANC, NHO, etc.) 5. Manufacturing plant name and location (for qualification country status verification) 6. What are your specific manufacturing skills that will ensure your capability to perform the requirement? 7. Service Lead Times, Maximum Quantity capable of galvanizing per week, Economical Service Ordering Quantity, etc. 8. Delivery Capability - such as maximum number of metal pallets that can be received and galvanized per week on a Monday through Thursday 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. schedule. 9. Has your firm galvanized metal pallets for the U.S. Government before that met specifications contained within ASTM 123/ASTM 123A? 10. If #9 is yes, provide the provide the following information: Government agency name, Government contract number, dollar value, length of time provided product, Government point of contact information such as name, phone number, and e-mail address. All of the above information must be submitted in detail with your submission under this RFI. If a solicitation is issued, it will be published electronically on the FBO website and will be the responsibility of the interested parties to check regularly.
