- Army CECOM Industry Day - November 28-29 Cable & Connector - Industry Day Title of Event: Army CECOM Cable & Connector - Industry Day Audience: Members of the DoD and Industry Representatives; Cable and Connector Vendors When: 28-29 November 2018, 0800-1600 Where: C4ISR Mallette Training Facility, 6008 Jayhawk Road Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 20036-1845 Abstract: Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land at Aberdeen is coordinating with Army CECOM and DLA to conduct an Industry Day related to the manufacturing of cable assemblies and connectors. The objective of this Industry Day is to ensure the Government clearly understands the marketplace and can award contracts for effective solutions at reasonable prices to obtain timely delivery. Dialogue between Government and industry is expected to promote innovation and best practices. Specifically, the goals of this Industry Day are to: - Brief Industry on Specific Procurements - Brief Industry on the General Scope of Cable and Connector Spend across Army CECOM (CECOM Managed and DLA Managed Spend) - Gain a better understanding of industry developments - Understand industry challenges - Provide a platform for open discussion and idea exchange - Increase competition by sharing useful information; and - Provide a forum for vendors (prime and sub vendors) to easily communicate with the Government - To ensure synergy exists between Army CECOM/DLA and Industry representatives - Gain a better understanding of recent Industry developments - Provide updates to Industry on future Army CECOM/DLA developments and acquisitions - Sharing forecasting requirements for Prime/Sub Supply Chain effectiveness - Engage industry to develop acquisition strategy for future procurements - Allow the Government and industry to educate each other on acquisition challenges Who should attend? Vendors who sell products that are applicable to cable assemblies; cables and connectors (MIL-connectors). **Agenda is tentative and subject to change** Industry Day (Day 1): • -- Welcome Presentation and Agenda - Deputy Commanding General for CECOM, Mr. Larry Muzzelo, will provide opening remarks • -- Acquisition History and Opportunities • -- Period of Performance Discussion (contract length beyond 5 years) • -- Break -- • -- Challenges and Desired End State • -- Cable & Connector Presentations: o DLA Land and Maritime o CECOM Industrial Base Office o CECOM/DLA Small Business o Tobyhanna Army Depot o Counterfeit Issues • Q&A Panel • -- Break/Lunch -- • Breakout Groups Discussions o Breakout Groups will be comprised of Government representatives and may include, but will not be limited to, Contracting Officers from DLA and ACC, Program/Project Managers, Technical Experts, Small Business Specialists, Subject Mater Experts, and other personnel involved in requirement development Industry Day (Day 2 - Tentative): • -- Welcome • -- Breakout Groups Discussions Registration Please Pre-register via e-mail to Matthew Crouch at matthew.crouch@dla.mil. There will be no registration fee. Identification will be required at check-in. Meals and Beverages will not be provided at the event; however, there is Subway in the facility. Any questions are encouraged prior to the event to ensure Government POCs have ample time to provide sufficient responses. Vendors may submit capability statements; however, it does not constitute a formal proposal submission and will only be used for market research purposes. The Government does not request any proprietary or classified information be submitted. Please provide the following information: 1. Company name 2. CAGE code 3. Names of attendees 4. Details/Capabilities/Previous Awards with the Government. Further information about access to the Aberdeen Proving Grounds military installation, as well as detailed directions to the building, will be provided at a later date.
