Description
QUESTION: The SS has a response date of Nov 25, 2018 11:59pm Eastern. As this is a Sunday following the Thanksgiving holiday, can we expect any modifications to the due date? ANSWER: The Delivery date will be extended to Monday, Nov 26, 2018 11:59pm Eastern. QUESTION: The Sources Sought states, "The contractor must be able to meet the minimum requirements with regard to radio capability and delivery time to the fleet." Could you further amplify or provide an estimate of the Navy's expectation for total quantities and delivery schedule? I look forward to hearing from you soon. ANSWER PART 1: Radios capability must meet the Key Performance Parameter (KPP) Threshold (T) requirements, which are: 1. Environment - The Radio Set shall be fully operational after exposure to Naval and Marine operating environments. 2. Size (Height x Width x Depth) - The Radio Set shall be no larger than the PRC-90 radio (6.1" x 3.1" x 1.4") radio plus/minus 0.5 inch and not interfere with Navy and Marine trainer aircraft flight controls. 3. Voice Transceiver Frequencies - Selectable, Half duplex, Analog Amplitude Modulation (AM) Radio Frequency (RF) 243 MHz and 282.8 MHz 4. Beacon Frequencies - A swept tone modulated signal on 243 MHz in accordance with (IAW) MIL-STD-188-243A for Survival Radio Equipment and One digital signal in the 406.0- 406.1 MHz band IAW COSPAS-SARSAT (C/S) T.001/T.007. Selectable modes include multiple frequency beacon and 406 MHz band beacon. 5. GPS Receiver and Accuracy - Course Acquisition (C/A) code accuracy within 125 meters transmitted via C/S message which has position encoding resolution of 4 seconds (0° 0' 4"). (The length of four seconds of longitude varies with latitude up to 124 meters.) ANSWER PART 2: The Government total quantity and delivery schedule will be provided in the RFP and SOW. However, the Government's acquisition strategy will be influenced by potential offers': a. Existing production capabilities for candidate radios (units per month) b. Potential production capability for candidate radios (if different than current production capability) c. Current radio unit cost d. Radio unit cost if purchased in the following incremental quantities: i. 500 ii. 1000 iii. 1500
