This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purposes of this Sources Sought Notice is to determine interest and capability of prospective contractors relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 334519 (Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing). VA has a requirement for a liquid scintillation counter that analyzes small samples of radioactivity. Installation will be required by the manufacturer. The Hitachi AccuFLEX LSC-8000 liquid scintillation counter with 4000 channel high resolution multi-channel analyzer reflects the characteristics and level of quality that will satisfy the Government s specified requirement and at a minimum must have the ability to: -Must be capable of chemical luminescence correction -Must be capable of color quenching correction -Sample error check function -Sample normalization -half life correction function -background subtraction function -automatic calibration function -spectrum display function -single/dual/triple label DPM measurements -efficiency tracing capable -Needs to have a printer If you intend to submit an equal product for evaluation, please ensure that you are in total compliance with FAR Clause 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal (Aug 1999) prior to responding to this Request for Information. The Contracting Officer will evaluate equal products on the basis of information furnished by the offeror or identified in the offer and reasonably available to the Contracting Officer. The Contracting Officer is not responsible for locating or obtaining any information not identified in the offer. Interested firms that can meet the requirements stated above should respond in writing and include at a minimum, ALL of the following information: Company name: Address: Point of contact (name/title/telephone number/e-mail address). FSS Contract number, if applicable: DUNS number: Tax ID number: Indication of which business category (SDVOSB, VOSB, Small Business or Large Business) for which the organization qualifies. A capability statement that addresses the organizations qualifications and ability to provide the requirement depicted above. If offering equipment as a distributor, provide a memo or correspondence from the manufacturer which proves the authorization as a distributor of the manufacturer s products. If an authorized distributor, a statement explaining the added value provided with this purchase if any. Reference the product, facility and sources sought number on all correspondence regarding this announcement. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 334519 and the small business size standard is 500 employees.
