- The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 2 is issuing this sources-sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support a requirement for a one-time Radioactive Waste Disposal Service, at the Northport VA Medical Center (79 Middleville Road, Northport, NY 11768-2200). The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 562211. The primary requirement of this requirement is the disposal of legacy radioactive waste. The Northport VA Medical Center is a generator of radioactive waste and the generated radioactive waste is required to be removed and disposed of by a radioactive waste broker who is licensed by the New York State Department of Health, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and the U.S. Department of Transportation. Interested Parties must possess the necessary New York state and NRC transportation licenses; the environmental technical expertise and resources required by all applicable federal and New York State regulations including but not limited to: 29 Code of Federal Regulations (including but not limited to 29 CFR 1910.120), 40 CFR Protection of Environment, and 49 CFR USDOT Regulations. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals; submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. If your organization has the potential capacity to perform these contract services, please provide a Capability Statement, as well as the following identifying information: Organization name, DUNS number, address, email address, Web site address, telephone number, and socioeconomic status of the organization. Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) must be verified at https://www.vip.vetbiz.gov in order to be counted as an SDVOSB or VOSB firm. The government will evaluate market information to ascertain potential market capacity to provide services consistent in scope and scale with those described in this notice and otherwise anticipated. Based on the responses to this sources-sought notice/market research, this requirement may be set-aside for small businesses or procured through full and open competition. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged, and no feedback or evaluations will be provided to companies regarding their submissions. Submission Instructions: Interested parties who consider themselves qualified to perform the above-listed service requirement are invited to submit a response to this Sources-Sought Notice by December 31, 2018 at 5:00PM EST.
