Description

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) intends to procure on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.106-1) with Spray Analytics, Inc., 14682 W River Oaks Dr, Lincolnshire, IL 60069-2202, for data collection using a high speed aerosol sizer to measure particle size distributions. The instrument required must be capable of measuring aerosol droplets moving up to 100 m/s with a size distribution over the range of 0.2 - 900 µm with an acquisition rate of at least 2.5 kHz to achieve the fractional millisecond timeframe, within a total measurement path length range of 6 inches potentially up to 18 inches necessitated by the experimental design. This requirement is currently met only by the Spraytec instrument, and the manufacturer Malvern does not perform contract field measurements. Spray Analytics is the only known business that performs contract field measurements with the Malvern Spraytec instrument.
